The Kansas Corporation Commission opened a proceeding to consider implementation of recent changes in Kansas telecommunications law.
The Commission concluded that:
- except for tariffs of non-electing ILECs, all non-access tariffs currently on file will cease to be effective as of July 1, 2013;
and - telecommunications carriers do not need to file quarterly quality of service reports for service provided after July 1, 2013.
The Commission will hold further proceedings to determine various other issues, including the
continued application of its billing standards and annual reporting requirements.
An order revising the dates for filing entries of appearance and comments is expected to be
adopted at the Commission’s June 19, 2013, Open Meeting.
