The Regulatory Mix, TMI’s daily blog of regulatory activities, is a snapshot of PUC, FCC, legislative, and occasionally court, issues that our regulatory monitoring team uncovers each day. Depending on their significance, some items may be the subject of a TMI Regulatory Bulletin (our popular subscription service). Most will simply be activities that we felt would be of interest to our blog followers. We plan to post a fresh list every morning.
TELECOM
Delaware
A new law will further reduce regulation of telecom providers and remove the requirement to file retail tariffs. Watch for a TMI Bulletin.
Indiana
The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission adopted new requirements for providers seeking to be designated as Eligible Telecommunications Carriers.
Oregon
The Public Utility Commission adopted temporary rule amendments to conform its Lifeline eligibility criteria to those adopted by the FCC.
Washington
The legislature passed a bill that would establish a temporary state USF, require sellers of prepaid wireless service to collect the enhanced 911 tax, and eliminate the taxes that fund the state Lifeline and TRS programs. Watch for a TMI Bulletin if the Governor signs it into law.
