List of PUC and FCC Regulatory activity from TMI

The Regulatory Mix, TMI’s daily blog of regulatory activities, is a snapshot of PUC, FCC, legislative, and occasionally court, issues that our regulatory monitoring team uncovers each day. Depending on their significance, some items may be the subject of a TMI Regulatory Bulletin (our popular subscription service).

The FCC has released the agenda for its July 29, 2013 Open Meeting. The Commission will consider the following Wireline, Wireless, and/or Consumer and Government Affairs Items: (1) a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to modernize the Schools and Libraries Universal Service Support mechanism (the E-rate program) to support high speed broadband for digital learning technologies and ensure all students, teachers, and library patrons have the tools they need to succeed in the 21st century; (2) a Report and Order addressing mandatory minimum standards applicable to the Speech-to-Speech Relay program and a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking input on ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of this program; (3) a Staff update on the Implementation of the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA). The FCC will also consider two media items: a Fifteenth Report on the status of competition in the market for the delivery of video programming and a presentation on LEAD (Leading Education by Advancing Digital) Recommendations and Digital Learning.
