regulatory mix from TMI's regulatory monitoring team

The Regulatory Mix, TMI’s daily blog of regulatory activities, is a snapshot of PUC, FCC, legislative, and occasionally court, issues that our regulatory monitoring team uncovers each day. Depending on their significance, some items may be the subject of a TMI Regulatory Bulletin.

TELECOM

Nevada

The PUC of Nevada seeks comment on revisions to its rules governing the remittance of the telecommunications device for the deaf (TDD) surcharge. The amendment would require telecommunications carriers to submit surcharge payments and reports not later than January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31 of each year. See TMI Regulatory Bulletin dated 10/1/13.

Texas

The Texas PUC seeks comment on a straw man that amends several PUC rules to conform them to 2013 legislation. Affected rules include: suspension or disconnection of service; information regarding rates and services of nondominant carriers; informational notices and tariff filings by ILECs; administration of the Texas USF, and monitoring of 911 fees. Comments are due October 14, 2013. See TMI Regulatory Bulletin dated 10/1/13.
