A new law in New York will allow carriers to detariff all retail services other than regulated basic services. Detariffed carriers will be required to post their rates, terms, and conditions of service on the Internet and provide customers with notice of any rate increases. Once the law becomes effective, existing retail tariffs may be withdrawn on thirty days notice. The law becomes effective 1/19/14.
