2020 FCC SealFCC Issues Reminder of June 30, 2022 Deadline for iCanConnect 

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a public notice reminding entities interested in participating in the National Deaf-Blind Equipment Distribution Program (NDBEDP), also known as “iCanConnect, that the current certification cycle of the NDBEDP ends on June 30, 2022.  Under iCanConnect, the FCC provides up to $10 million annually from the Interstate Telecommunications Relay Service Fund (TRS Fund) to support programs that distribute equipment to eligible low-income individuals who are deaf-blind, so that these individuals can access telecommunications service, Internet access service, and advanced communications services. A single entity is certified every five years for each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as the sole entity for that jurisdiction eligible to receive reimbursement for NDBEDP activities from the TRS Fund.

The FCC’s Form 477 filing interface is operational again.  The FCC announced that the new filing deadline for Form 477 data as of December 31, 2020 is March 15, 2021.
