The Regulatory Mix, TMI’s daily blog of regulatory activities, is a snapshot of PUC, FCC, legislative, and occasionally court, issues that our regulatory monitoring team uncovers each day. Depending on their significance, some items may be the subject of a TMI Regulatory Bulletin.
*Please note The Regulatory Mix will be on hiatus Wednesday, November 26th through Sunday, November 30th for Thanksgiving*
The FCC announced that its Form 477 filing interface at https://apps2.fcc.gov/form477/login.xhtml has been reopened. The new filing deadline for Form 477 data as of June 30, 2014, is December 11, 2014. The interface was closed September 26, 2014, due to significant and unanticipated technical issues. See the Regulatory Mix dated 10/30/14, 10/8/14, and 9/30/14. The FCC said that filers who submitted their Form 477 filings prior to the closing of the site do not need to take any further action; those filings remain in “Submitted” status. In addition, filers who started the filing process prior to the closing of the site do not need to re-upload any files or re-enter any records provided previously and should see those data after logging in to the interface.
The PUC announce further proceedings in its rulemaking to adopt, amend, and/or repeal regulations pertaining to its s processes and procedures. A workshop on the proposed rule changes will be held January 14, 2015. A hearing will be held January 20, 2015. Written comments may be filed until January 7, 2015. The rule changes address areas such as participation in contested cases, publication of notice of certain filings, format of filings made to contest a show cause order or complaint, and changes to the annual reporting rule as it relates to providers of last resort of basic telecommunication services.
